The Killing Kind written by Author Jill Rosenblatt is the second book in the Fixer series and continues where the novella, The Naked Man, left off. The main protagonist Katerina, is now in much deeper with the mysterious organisation who contract her as a Fixer for New York’s wealthy and privileged men. With no easy way out of her financial situation, Katerina must go to more challenging and more dangerous lengths to fulfil her assignments, stay out of prison and more importantly stay alive.
She is a quick thinking, adaptable, strong & feisty female lead that readers will enjoy, but in the second books we see an innocence and vulnerability that makes her an attractive target to men who want to use and possess her. Men with their own hidden agenda who take advantage of Katerina’s predicaments and abuse their position. Katerina must fight harder and accept help, in the form of Alex Winter, but can she trust him with her life and her heart?
The plot moves at a great pace, with engaging characters and credible dialogue that keeps the reader turning the pages as the excitement and tension builds. There are no significant editorial issues and nothing to detract from the sheer enjoyment of this book.
I really enjoyed the Killing Kind and I am truly invested in the character of Katerina Mills. I am therefore awarding a well deserved 5 stars!
