First, let me say – I didn’t set out to become a writer. I was too busy running — literally.
At fourteen, I was a competitive runner with my eyes on the finish line… until a friend (bless his clumsy soul) accidentally shattered my knee and my athletic dreams in one fell swoop. Overnight, I went from racing tracks to lying flat on my back, trapped beneath a fortress of blankets and a towering stack of Harlequin romances.
My dad took one look at those bodice-rippers scattered across my bed, said nothing, and disappeared — only to return moments later, drop a book onto my lap, and declare: “You need to broaden your reading horizons.” The book was Iceberg by Clive Cussler. And just like that, my fate was sealed. Dirk Pitt became my new hero. Adventure, mystery, danger — all danced off the page and straight into my imagination. While my knee healed, a new dream took shape: I wanted to whisk readers away on thrilling journeys of their own.
So here I am: a writer fueled by a twist of fate, a determined dad, and the legendary Clive Cussler. And while I may not be sprinting down tracks anymore, I’m still chasing stories — and loving every second of the race.

I served eleven years in the Army after joining straight from school, where discipline, sacrifice, and leadership were part of everyday life. When my service ended i struggled to find my feet before storytelling became my next calling. For the past seven years, I have been writing stories that explore power, survival, and the choices that shape who we become. My experiences in the military and now my experience as a father continue to influence my work, grounding even the most distant worlds in very human struggles. My passion for writing has now become a huge part of my life and drives me to produce more stories.

I grew up in Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire. All my life I have enjoyed reading science fiction and fantasy books. I began writing when I was a teenager and sent many a short story to magazines in the 70s and 80s, not surprisingly they were rejected. After a hiatus of nearly 20 years I returned to writing and the changing publishing scene. Now I write urban fantasy and paranormal romance. I am the author of three novels at the moment and working on number four. My current WIP is book 2 of my The Coterie series. It’s set in a fictional stately home in Leconfield, East Yorkshire,
I have one more book in my urban fantasy series, The Donati to write at the beginning of 2024, then I aim to turn my attention to a six book Paranormal Romance series set in the city of York where I lived for a few years.
I have worked for the Inland Revenue and the local authority in the Housing department. After taking redundancy twelve years ago, I set up my own business as a Professional Genealogist. Lately I have been moving over to more writing and less genealogy, thought that will always be a part of my life.

Author Ceri Williams & Drew Neary
Neary-Williams is the co-writing team of Andrew Neary and Ceri Williams, based in the Midlands of the UK. This is the first time we are co-writing and we are really excited about how dynamic our partnership is .It was evident from our initial meetings and the snowballing of ideas that evolved, that we absolutely had to write this novel.
The Clockmaker originated as a character in the much larger prequel novel – Optics. When we put some extracts on our Facebook page we received acclaim and requests to develop the minor characters further. That was when The Clockmaker was born.
Drew became interested in history, science fiction/fantasy and conspiracy theories in his teenage years. This prompted him to write short stories over the years. He is also a fan of tabletop gaming.
Ceri has always loved language, and after a 5 year stint in advertising and journalism, now writes supernatural horror and fantasy.
As the first in an upcoming series of supernatural books, the Clockmaker is the story of Annette and her young son Duncan. Widowed in World War 2, they face a completely different life as they exchange the devastation of post-blitz London for the slow pace of a small village in Scotland.
The house they have inherited is old, its bones still settling, creaking noises in the dead of night and the murmur of scritch-scritch in the walls. Located outside the village of Lochnagar, it’s been empty for many years.
It is here in this village that a series of strange events begins to unfold.
How the Clockmaker makes his plans, his meticulous preparations and macabre creations, builds up to a series of gruesome, horrific murders. These have just one end in view: his release from that which has held him captive for centuries.
When planning the writing of this novel, we wanted the setting to be somewhere special. We visit Scotland a lot and chose the Balmoral area for it’s beautiful geography that would lend itself to the dramatic scenes we had planned. We see Scotland as a land steeped with myth and mystery that dates back to the time of the Romans and beyond. We loved the feel of ancient power resting in the Dolmans, waiting to be released.
The third member of our team is a visual artist based in the Netherlands. Priscila Rodriguez Aranda worked closely with us to create a cover that reflected both the content and the genres of the book.

I’d love to say that writing has always been in my blood and I owe my strange imagination to a relative I barely knew, but as far as I know, I’m a one of a kind from my family (in more ways than one).
During the day I work as part of a transport planner for a busy haulage company. Outside of work, I write, drool over pictures of horses, cars, wolves, birds of prey and stunning landscapes, indulge in films and books, and occasionally socialise with friends.
Conspiracy theories, the supernatural, and the darker side of human nature fascinate me.
I am a thirty-something mother to an eighteen year old boy and 3 cats.

Author Christine Skippins
Welcome to my world, one of a passionate storyteller whose pen, or laptop, is fuelled by inspiration from literary giants like Sophie Kinsella, Jojo Moyes, and Danielle Steel. I believe in the power of narrative to portray real life, whether it unfolds in the realm of romance, the tension of crime, or the thrill of adventure. My first adult novel invites readers to embark on a journey that reflects the complexities of human relationships. What truly excites me about writing is the ability to lose myself in my characters’ lives and adventures. They often possess a bravery and sense of adventure that I find deeply aspirational, inspiring me to explore beyond my own boundaries. Among this vibrant cast, I hold a special affection for Jane. She embodies strength, resilience, and an empowering spirit that resonates with me. Through her, I see reflections of my own struggles and triumphs, amplified with an unstoppable girl power that transcends age.
From a young age, I was an animal-loving child with a vibrant imagination, drawn to stories that combined my passions for adventure and the natural world. My early reading experiences were shaped by beloved books that sparked my creativity and love for storytelling. Among my childhood favourites were Michael Bond’s “Olga da Polga,” a delightful tale about a clever guinea pig, and a charming Ladybird book entitled “Smoke and Fluff,” which follows the mischievous antics of two naughty kittens. I also cherished wildlife stories like “Tarka the Otter.” Today, I still hold well-loved and somewhat tattered copies of these books, which I happily share with my grandchildren. As a writer, what excites me most is the journey I take my characters on, crafting their adventures while staying true to their emotions. I strive to convey their feelings of excitement and anticipation authentically, making their stories resonate with readers. Among all the characters I have created I have a special affection for Ollie the Collie. Wise and sensible, Ollie leads the other animals on their adventures.
To the Rescue embodies traits inspired by my own beloved dog, who was a significant part of my family for many years. Through my writing, I aim to blend my love of animals and adventure, hoping to inspire in others the same wonder these stories instilled in me as a child.

Author Colin Eston
After forty years of reading detective, murder mysteries and teaching English and Drama, it took retirement and a diagnosis of cancer to spur me to take up my pen – or rather, start tapping at my computer keyboard and start exploring the intricacies of formatting text and designing book covers!. That was in 2004. 16 books later I’m still writing!
The three books in the Saint and Czinner series are contemporary detection, set in and around my home turf of Selby, North Yorkshire. They were my first foray into crime fiction, and revisiting them twenty years on, I realised they needed sharpening up. Totally re-edited, modernised and with new covers and titles, they could now be classed as Yorkshire ‘noir’ murders.
In the eleven (so far!) Will Archer mysteries I aim to bring the 18th century to vivid life as the eponymous hero is recruited into the George II’s secret service. The London underworld of bath-houses and vice dens, the royal Courts and palaces, the world of theatre and high society – Will Archer discovers them all as he hunts for villains and murderers. He also ranges wider, to his home territory of Yorkshire, to Ireland and to the wilds of Scotland during the Jacobite Rebellion and even into war-torn Europe. Fans of ‘Bridgerton’ or ‘Outlander’ may find Will Archer a worthy new hero to add to their list.
And during the last two years, Arnold Parker has made his appearance. Approaching his eighties, and with a dead wife who still talks to him – and helps him solve crimes! – he is a reluctant sleuth who discovers that books are more revealing – and more dangerous! – than he ever imagined. As such, his Casebooks inhabit a similar ‘cosy’ crime territory as ‘Thursday Murder Club’ and ‘Magpie Murders’.

Author Edna Hunneysett
My father died 2 weeks before our last (and 8th) child was born. I wanted to tell her about him. I began writing my story from when I was born and from the age of 2, brought up with 6 siblings in poverty on an isolated farm on the North Yorks moors with no mod cons i.e. we finally got a tractor when I was aged 10 and that was our transport, even to church in the village, parked on the village green. I tried many publishers but it wasn’t published. Our youngest daughter became seriously ill at 13 and was suicidal. She had 2 relapses. I was doing my BA distance learning. I continued and did a Masters as I wanted to do my research on support for families where there is mental illness including church support. I was given a distinction and the hope, they said, that it would be published in some form. I wrote my true story of 6 years of our life and the devastating effect on our family during the period of our daughter’s teenage years and included my research. This book, was published, the first of 3 books re mental health. I continued studying under an Anglican Bishop for a PhD but I didn’t get it but I had my research published. Then my publisher ceased. I found Chipmunka and changed the titles of those 2 books to the current titles. I ran support groups and my 3rd book constitutes over 25 contributors of their stories/prayers/poems etc. NB Our daughter recovered and gained a 2.1 at Durham University and is now an Assistant Head at a large primary school and is happily married and has 5 children. Whilst my daughter was recovering, we revamped the farming book, adding fiction. I tried more publishers but again, it wasn’t published. After many more years, I went back to my very first book and changed parts and finally it was published, my first ‘Greener’ book:
semi-autobiographical. It takes me to 11 years old when I passed my 11+ exams. My 2nd ‘Greener’ book is 6 years of boarding school at a Convent Grammar boarding school plus home life and the contrast and struggles. My 3rd ‘Greener’ book takes me out into the big wide world with boyfriends, motor bikes and dances and eventually meeting Mr Right and getting married at 20 and the birth of our first 3 children… We have been married for 61 years.

Author Eleanor Dixon
Eleanor Dixon’s school life was spent in a girl’s boarding-school specialising in classical ballet and on leaving she danced professionally touring Europe, or four years. After that she ran her own ballet school in Athens, Greece and simultaneously volunteered as a veterinary nurse, as her love of animals is the driving force in her life. Eleanor returned to England with her horse and cat, and now lives on a smallholding in Shropshire with her husband, various farm animals and a constant stream of pets.
Eleanor started writing while in Greece, and completed a Creative Writing Course with the Writer’s Bureau. The same year, she won an annual competition in the Writing Magazine for an adult fairy story. On her return to England, she wrote two children’s books, but her new life, caring for Highland cattle, sheep, hens and pets, coupled with extensive global travel, meant that writing for publication took a back seat. She continued her love of writing with a daily journal and amusing travel blogs of each trip.
Eleanor is now writing full time and Tally and the Angel, Book One India, is the first of a planned series of six. Book Two takes place in Canada, North Yukin, and the third in Japan. Eleanor intends them to have adventures in Greece, Egypt, Peru, Africa – anywhere she has been really.
Eleanor’s first published novel, The Graceful Ghost, draws on her own experiences in ballet-boarding-school and her early teenage life, and is a story that has lived with her for many years. It was shortlisted for the UK Selfies Awards 2021, and a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Awards 2021. Ballet School Boys is the second in the series and Ballet School Rumours the third.
A little known fact about Eleanor is that her favourite food is Birthday Cake.

Author Elizabeth Green
I’m Elizabeth Green, a children’s author with a passion for storytelling, bringing to life whimsical adventures and heartfelt tales for young readers.
From an early age, I’ve always loved writing. My parents would tell you that I had (and still have) a very vivid imagination, and I try to channel that into creating stories that readers will love. English was my favourite subject at school, and when I wasn’t writing, I’d be tucked under my duvet with my nose in a book. The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, and Mallory Towers were some of my favourites—books that transported me to other worlds where anything was possible.
When I was fourteen, I received the best Christmas present I could ever wish for—a typewriter. I loaded it with paper right away and started writing my first story, The Adventures of Detective Dopeyworth. Life eventually took over, and that story was tucked away in a drawer and forgotten for nearly forty years. It wasn’t until I was selling my parents’ home that I rediscovered the manuscript and decided it was time to share it with the world.
Now, I feel like my writing journey has truly begun. Alongside The Adventures of Detective Dopeyworth and its sequel The Mince Pie Mystery, I’ve written a series of beautifully illustrated owl picture books, sharing Clarence’s adventures of friendship and feelings. I hope I can help inspire budding writers as I continue my author journey, sharing tips on writing, marketing, and connecting with the wonderful author community. I’d love to hear from you too!

Working on the reception desk of a 14th century castle, I was always asked one question. Is it haunted? Guests have a vested interest in finding out, as the castle is a four-star hotel and they will be staying the night!
There is a centuries old legend surrounding the castle. The spirit of Lily Lumley, supposed wife of Sir Ralph Lumley, is said to haunt the building after she was murdered in the 14th century by local priests because she refused to convert to Catholicism. This legend is the inspiration for my current writing project, which is my second venture into the realm of novel writing.
My first novel was a young adult fantasy novel, Elodie Black, Guardian of Dreams, set in a fictional world known as The Old Realm. Elodie is a young apprentice at The Curiosity Bureau, and she stumbles upon a sinister plot to destroy magic. I had so much fun writing Elodie’s story and I fell in love with the fantasy genre. I didn’t begin writing fiction until I was in my mid-thirties. My first ever writing project was Elodie Black Guardian of Dreams, and at sixty-four-thousand-words long, there’s nothing like throwing yourself in at the deep end! I learned so much and really enjoyed the whole process, from researching, outlining, writing, and revising. At the time I was also studying for an MLitt research degree in history at Newcastle University, and I found the research skills I gained were invaluable when it came to researching for my first novel.
After I finished my postgraduate degree, I didn’t relish the prospect of becoming a lecturer or going on to further study, so I decided to put my historical research skills to good use by writing a historical fantasy novel. I spent months thinking over ideas, and in that time, I started working at Lumley Castle. After a while, a tiny seed of inspiration began to grow in my mind, and I read up on the legend of Lily Lumley and the history of the castle. Pretty soon after that I decided to write Lily’s story.
I often find myself gleaning inspiration from the tiniest and strangest of things when I’m at the castle. It could be a comment made by a departing guest, an old newspaper clipping, or a particular painting on the castle walls. We have a resident cat at the castle these days, (called Poppet) and even she has made it onto the pages of Lily of Lumley Castle. I always become immersed in Lily’s world as I write, and I’m passionate about telling her story. In reality, Lily probably did not exist, but she comes to life on the pages of the book and embarks on a magical journey, leaving behind a legacy that is unearthed over six hundred years later by paranormal investigators, Alice, and her assistant, Sebastien.
I have also written non-fiction. As part of my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees I studied the history of north-east England, in particular the working-class movement and the political enfranchisement of the coal miners. My work on the reform era of 1832 in north-east England was published by The University of Sunderland, and that spurred me on to complete further study at postgraduate level. I have since gone on to publish a non-fiction book about the working-class politics of County Durham between 1830 and 1936.
My future writing plans are pretty exciting. Lily of Lumley Castle will be the first book in a series called, The Copperheart Legacy, and in each book I will use my research skills to bring history to life, but with a magical twist. I’m already researching ideas for the rest of the books in the series, and I’m excited to see where this adventure will take me.

I’m a retired teacher living in Yorkshire and I love to spend my free time writing. I’ve experimented with all kinds of genres, but my true passion lies in creating children’s books. I’m a mum and a grandma and I have contributed towards the education of hundreds, perhaps thousands of children. Incredibly, I have managed to live to tell the tale… as have they!
My other hobbies include reading, yoga, pilates and travelling. I adore animals and wildlife. I also like to have a stab at cooking but have had some fairly spectacular catastrophes. This has usually happened when I’ve been overly ambitious – crème brûlées and blow torches, together with exploding liquidisers are just a few memories that I’d rather like to forget! The reality is that I’m a foodie but am probably better off sticking to simpler things and appreciating the culinary skills of others when it comes to anything more complicated.

Author Jesse Rene Gibbs
My name is Jesse Rene Gibbs and I am the author of ‘Girl Hidden.’ I am an artist, designer, dancer and survivor. I am a stepmother to four, Amma to four more, and blessed beyond measure with the family I chose.
This book is based on the true story of my life, gleaned from years of my mother’s writings, my grandmother’s journals and my own experiences. I did my best to showcase the depth of damage that growing up with a narcissistic parent can have on a person, and how hard it is to come to terms with the amount of gaslighting that comes with that life. My siblings all have their own stories of being played against each other, bullied, and even emotionally tortured by our parents. We were trained to not trust our own intuition, raised in a life of poverty, a lack of privacy, and the endlessly traumatising purity culture.
I was hunted in my own home by the man my mother married, and escaped at nineteen to land in an intentional community in Chicago that did nearly as much damage. My best friend in the book is also real, and she did more to walk me through my trauma, and she is the main reason that these stories were finally published.
My new life in Seattle didn’t start until well into my thirties, and I’m still working on deconstructing my life up to that point. I wrote this book to organise my life in my own mind, and to undo years of lies. I also wrote it because others need to know that they are not alone.

I enjoy writing historical romances with a twist of mystery and suspense. I’m pleased to say that in March 2019 Songbird won a Chill Book Premier Readers’ Award and in September 2020 it also became a Readers’ Favourite Finalist Winner. In 2021 The Wild Poppy received a five-star review from Readers’ Favourite.

Author J M Newsome
Julia (J M Newsome) is the award-winning author of two English Readers published by Cambridge University Press, among other English as a Foreign Language (EFL) books. In her long career in EFL, she lived in, and often wrote about, various countries. Now, with her first dual timeline trilogy, she has come home. The present-day sections of the Connection Trilogy are set in Cumbria, where Julia spent part of her childhood, has forebears, and now lives. The ancient story is set in Greece, where she lived and worked for over twenty years, and where she still has family.
“I’ve always been fascinated by what has survived from 5th Century BCE Greece,” she says. “Dashing to work in Athens, I’d catch glimpses of the Parthenon between modern buildings. Outside the city, I’d notice tumbled masonry, studded with wildflowers, behind rickety fences. I would think, ‘Who were the real people who carved those stones, who lived in those buildings?’ While teaching English to Greek students and working in publishing EFL teaching books, I learned (and am still learning!) a good deal about Hellenic culture and history. Themistokles’ story in The Connection Trilogy grew out of this fascination.”

Author K L Crear
I’m Karen (K.L. Crear) – author, over-sharer, and walking cautionary tale. Think: a sweary teenager trapped in the body of a menopausal woman who can’t sneeze without risking a wardrobe malfunction. You’re welcome.
Once upon a time, I worked in banking, the Civil Service, and property management , or as I like to call it, The Beige Trilogy. I spent decades being respectable (ish), responsible (occasionally), and quietly losing the will to live. Then one day I found myself broke, baffled, and built entirely out of biscuit crumbs and unresolved trauma. So I did what any sensible woman would do – I wrote it all down and flogged it in paperback.
I’ve battled cancer twice, and my coping strategy was to laugh at wildly inappropriate moments and shout “F*ck off!” at inspirational quotes. Spoiler: it worked. My sense of humour is deeply questionable, but it’s kept me just about sane through grief, illness, love, lies, and the time I gave myself food poisoning with a dodgy prawn ring from Iceland.
After years of procrastination (and one too many vinos), I finally swapped Pinot for a pen. Now I write jaw-dropping memoirs and hilarious women’s fiction about women who’ve had enough, snapped slightly, and are thriving in spite of it all, usually with a glass in hand, some top mates, and a solid alibi.
My hobbies include eating anything wrapped in pastry, shouting at the Real Housewives (“She’s definitely had something done – she’s melting!”), and threatening to adopt an axolotl because they look so absurdly cheerful. I once turned down hugging a sloth in Mexico, it dangles upside down, pees on itself, and honestly felt like a warning from the future.
I live in a sleepy Northern town with my long-suffering husband (he’s partially deaf, which helps) and our cat Pickle, who looks permanently disgusted with our life choices and the ongoing Dreamies rationing.
A portion of every book sale goes to Women’s Aid, Great Ormond Street, the Epilepsy Society, and Macmillan, because I know what it’s like to need help. The world’s a shitshow, but we can all make a little difference in our own way.

Author L Philipp Naughton
The ‘L’ in L. Philipp Naughton is for Laurence. Strangely, on the surface perhaps, the closest name to it is Victor. It was derived from the laurel wreaths given to champions in Roman times. I was born abroad to British parents back in 1957 but we returned to the UK when two years old. We moved around a lot and all over. Schools and friends were difficult and my reading and writing ability suffered. Fortunately this was set right by a wonderful teacher to whom I am eternally grateful. Looking back, ‘being the guy who didn’t fit it in’ helped develop my imagination. My first ‘work’ was at sixteen, a kind of War of the Worlds. That was it. Life got in the way, as it does and writing was reduced to occasional articles for company magazines. I was, however, fortunate to have a mother who had written as a young woman and later became a full-time author when I was about fourteen. The spark that ignited the writing furnace happened in 2011. Not so much the Road to Damascus, rather on a bus going to Edinburgh! I self published my first book in 2017 with several others since. I am married with two children and have lived in Central Scotland since 2005. I’m a constant people and places watcher, both amply providing ideas for characters and storylines. To relax, I have a fairly eclectic DVD collection in many languages, plus going to the theatre, gardening and miniature figure painting. I have been told that I am a cup-handled logic person, always going around the cup to reach the handle rather than direct to it! I don’t have a particularly favourite author but I’ll admit to a soft spot for Alice in Wonderland as far back as I can remember. Some readers ask why I write in different genres. It started as a suggested exercise to broaden the writer’s craft. I so enjoyed the experience, I just wanted to keep doing it. I am actively involved in the following:
- AmWritingFantasy
- Annual short story for the Scottish Book Trust
- November NaNoWriMo challenge (50000 words from 01 to 30 November)
- Author’s Corner for the Keithing (quarterly magazine for the town I live in – Inverkeithing). Currently the magazine is suspended due to lack of funds.

Sadly, I had to leave behind a career as a mental health practitioner. Now I’ve been an independent author and publisher for over seven years. My first books were written for children. As a lover of everything magical and fantastical, they were a joy to write and I still indulge my passion.
In 2022, I decided to take the leap and venture into a new genre and age group. North Run is my first full-length adult crime novel. Moving away from my comfort zone of writing for children was a serious challenge, and a deep learning curve.
The second book in the Sarah Allerton crime series, Shattered Web will be published late in 2023. The third book in the series will be out in 2024.
Between the joys and worry of family life, and the pleasure of being deputy vice-chair of PYA (promoting Yorkshire authors), I’m also working on an illustrated rhyming story for five to seven year olds.

After a long and, for the most part, fulfilling working life, I retired in 2019 with a renewed determination to write the novel that had been building in my mind for many years. I have dabbled in writing over the years but, to be honest, I probably needed a kick up the rear to get going. I finally did. The Worms’ In Fools’ Fingers is my first novel, four years in the writing, and at least a year trying to break into the fortress that is the publishing world. Persistence paid off and the novel was released on 24 May 2024.
I have had a varied career, having been a chef, a publican and a civil servant, during which time I contributed to the delivery of some modern IT systems. When I realised that technology was moving so fast that I could never keep up, I retired to spend time writing, playing guitar, hill walking and finding and enjoying good beer and, more recently developed a palate for malt whisky. I have travelled widely, absorbing impressions of places and of people and their stories for future inspiration.
I live in Northumberland with my long-time partner Val.

I then decided to get myself a “proper job” and began writing Full Time (although I have always written for my own satisfaction all my life without seriously considering Publication) My first Published work was a childrens’ book Johnny Dupl’eau , a humorous pirate-themed book intended as the first of a series. I have also written three more books for children, an ongoing series of Standalone stories each set in a different Liverpool public park. More in this series are current Works in Progress.

Author P V Bousfield
P (Peter) is a native of the vibrant North-East of England, born and raised in Stockton-on-Tees. From a young age, he found enjoyment in fantasy, horror, and post-apocalyptic worlds, which he explored through gaming and movies. Some of his favourite video games include Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, and Parasite Eve.
During this time, his fascination with horror, gore, and the unique creatures depicted in the media he consumed inspired him to draw his own creature designs—many of which he dreamed of including in a movie should he ever get the chance to make one (a dream he still holds to this day).
Although he performed highly in most school subjects, English was a struggle. Right up until Year 5, he found spelling difficult and wrote slowly—being left-handed meant he often smudged the words he did manage to get on the page. Everything changed when one teacher took it upon herself to spend extra time with him, and within a single year he went on to achieve top marks in his GCSEs.
One of P’s greatest motivations as a writer is his passion for creating complex, morally grey characters that linger in the reader’s mind long after the final page. Born on 3rd August 1990, P’s narrative journey expanded further when he met V in 2018.
V (Victoria) was born and raised in North Yorkshire on 18th March 1994. Growing up surrounded by countryside and wild, open spaces, she spent her childhood adventuring outdoors—fuelled by her imagination and her love of fantasy worlds such as The Lord of the Rings. She often ventured into the woods with her childhood dog, Bracken (occasionally alone, and sometimes in the dark), crafting stories and worlds in her mind.
Her favourite book of all time is Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison, which she has read more than fifty times—her well-worn copy proving its treasured status. Her childhood was filled with beautiful scenery, harsh weather, and the solitude of rural life, softened only by the presence of her four sisters, who frequently joined her on her adventures.
V wrote her first book at around thirteen, and is so embarrassed by it that she swears it will never see the light of day—her younger sister holds the only copy (and even P has never read it). Like P, she is an avid lover of animals; fittingly, it was P’s previous dog, Bouzer, who ultimately brought them together when they met online.
After V joined P, the two settled in his hometown of Stockton-on-Tees, where they now live with their beloved dog, Hugo (or H).

I was born in Australia and, although Australia still has a huge piece of my heart, I regard myself as a citizen of the world. I’m currently living in Ireland with my husband. My youngest daughter is also here on an extended holiday. My four older children have now flown the nest and it’s a new stage in my life. Aside from writing and working full-time, we are also renovating a quaint farmhouse in Ireland which is now almost habitable. When I say ‘we’, I really mean my husband is renovating! I have been writing since childhood, including horror stories, humour, and poetry, usually about life as I saw it then. My life is still the inspiration for my writing. I have a background in journalism, but only studied for the degree to ‘legitimise’ my writing, and while studying for my Bachelor of Journalism, I was blessed to win the Literary Achievement Award for Excellence in Fiction from the Golden Key International Honour Society, of which I’m a lifetime member for my fictionalised treatment of the September 11, 2001 tragedy in New York. A bit of very creative journalism, there. You can read this here. I’m beginning to make time for my writing now, and it is refreshing to be able to do this. My life gets a bit chaotic at times. yet I wouldn’t have it any other way. Still, this semi-chaotic lifestyle is perfect for short-story writing – not so good for novels, though. I am trying to persevere with a few longer works I have in the pipeline, as well as a couple of anthologies. Sometimes I really don’t think I have the attention span to write a novel. However, I have so many projects on the go that the characters are beginning to take over my life completely.

Author Rachel Bonner
Rachel J Bonner is the author of the compelling and enthralling four book Choices and Consequences series, paranormal romantic fantasy with underlying Christian themes.
The first book in the series, Strand of Faith, was published in November 2018. It was soon followed by Thread of Hope, and then Weave of Love. The story concludes with Cloth of Grace, although Rachel has spin off and associated short stories planned.
Rachel has a degree in engineering, which she followed with a career in accountancy which is probably not a conventional path to becoming an author, particularly in fantasy or romance. Rachel says that, although accountancy isn’t anything like as boring as everyone thinks, writing is a lot more fun.
When not writing, she can be found walking in the beautiful countryside near where she lives, which has influenced much of the scenery in her books, or shooting things with her local archery club. Shooting targets only, honest. Nothing to worry about. (Okay, sometimes we shoot Polo mints. Or cabbages. Still nothing to worry about.)
She also enjoys swimming, eating chocolate chip cookies and growing aromatic herbs, especially thyme and rosemary. It’s no coincidence that her heroine likes the same things.
You can sign up for Rachel’s newsletters at www.racheljbonner.co.uk, where subscribers also get Trader’s Child, the exclusive free prequel to the Choices and Consequences series.

I tell fibs for a living. Okay, that was a fib, I’m a children’s story writer but isn’t that the same thing? I make things up. It’s great fun!
I was brought up in the beautiful North Yorkshire moors and daydreamed my way through my school years. Being the adventurous type, I made the dramatic 11 mile move to Teesside where I continue to daydream.
When did I first begin writing stories? Well I suppose I was speaking them before writing them. I used to make up bedtime stories for my little brother about a squirrel – I wish I could remember the squirrel’s name. Then I began Primary school, and much to my teachers’ dismay, I daydreamed right the way through it. I would look out the window and be mesmerised by the iridescence of the long grass changing from green to silvery-blue and before I knew it – I’d missed another day of education! I also had the ability to control my dreams so I was even making up stories when I was asleep. They usually consisted of me becoming a giant wasp and rescuing children from burning schools. Not sure what that says about my psyche at the time, but possibly I thought school was a place from which children needed to escape!
I was lucky enough to experience 70s parenting where they simply let you loose to roam. Additionally, primary schools didn’t give homework so my time was free to allow my imagination to develop how it wanted. I spent all my time either outside playing with friends or pets, or laid on my bed reading books. When my secondary school teacher finally managed to wean me off the endless stream of horse-based stories, I suddenly discovered Stephen King and James Herbert. This backfired when I wrote a very convincing short story in first person about a child who murdered her own mother. My teacher rang my mum in a panic but she just laughed and reassured him, “don’t worry, it’s just her imagination!”
My mum was elegant, beautiful and intelligent – I inherited her tiny bladder. This has resulted in so many hilarious compromising situations. Well usually more hilarious for my friends than me. My bare bottom must have appeared on motorway CCTV so many times over the years! I also gained my dislike of cooking from her – the difference being, she was begrudgingly brilliant at it, whereas the smoke alarm is the signal for my children that tea is ready to be endured. From Mum I also gained my love of books. She was always reading and always interested in what I was reading. Luckily for me, she was very calm and totally understood me – even if I didn’t understand myself.
My father is my biggest influence. I spent most of my childhood with him as we shared the same hobbies. He would take me to pony events, car rallies and shows and taught me how to swim. He also taught me everything I know about the animals and the countryside we grew up in which is a strong influence in the stories I like to write. He is also very, very funny (and rather eccentric, but don’t tell him I told you!) Dad has that wonderful ability to retell a tale in such a way that even the most mundane events can sound uproarious with his retelling. Childhood was full of adventures with Dad although we had to play them down to my mother. She would have been horrified at some of our escapades!
As a grown-up I rediscovered children’s books through my own children, my ‘borrowed’ children and my job as an English teacher then a librarian. I have so many stories floating around in my head, partly influenced by real events and mostly just completely made up that I’ve decided now is the time to write them. I really hope that the readers will enjoy them as much as I enjoy writing them.

My artwork primarily focuses on my love for marine life, sunsets, and nature. I was deeply honoured with a commission to create and install an 8×8’ outdoor mural for a Reading Garden in a branch of the Caledon Public Library (Caledon, Ontario, Canada), on behalf of the Healthy Communities Initiative Grant from the Government of Canada, in June 2025. I am extremely proud to have published a picture book series known as “My Good Friend, Ted!” of which I both penned and illustrated. Having been previously published twice as an illustrator, I ventured into the world of becoming an author AND illustrator in 2019. The My Good Friend, Ted! series was inspired by my son, when he was a little boy, based on his affinity for the ocean and the creatures within. The books focus on Ted, a beautiful Blue Whale who is Red, and his ocean adventures. The themes within the stories include friendship, kindness, diversity, acceptance of differences, teamwork, and guiding awareness of the threats and dangers to marine life within our global waters. I have received wonderful feedback from families and children of all ages, who thoroughly enjoy the fun rhyming format, heartfelt tales, and the vibrant and endearing watercolour images, which were all traditionally hand-drawn and painted. I have graciously been awarded the Purple Dragonfly Book Award, Story Monsters Approved Award, Moms Choice Award, and Ella’s Way Gold Award for Recognizing Kindness, as well as an Honourable Mention Book Dragon Award! These are most incredible achievements in children’s literature and exciting recognition and acknowledgement! Author Sophie Jupillat Posey
I started writing when I was very young. I wrote all kinds of various works: poetry, mystery short stories, then I moved on to fantasy and sci-fi novels. I went to college in 2011 and graduated with a Major in English Lit, and minors in Creative Writing and Music. I had the opportunity to be an intern for Winter with the Writers, where I studied under writers like Karen Russell or N. Scott Momaday. My poetry, stories and music have been published in numerous literary magazines since 2014.
I started off as more of a literary writer, but as time goes on I am falling back into my old beloved genres: paranormal, fantasy and sci-fi. I love writing in various mediums and genres.
In 2019, after querying for years for various novels, I decided to self-publish The Four Suitors. I had some sales, but most importantly my work was out there! But I knew I had much to learn about marketing, networking, and improving my craft.
I have been working on a sci-fi YA novel and am currently editing it. Before its publication this year, I self-published an anthology of my short stories called “The Inside Out Worlds: Visions of Strange,” to whet my readers’ appetites. I have had more success than with my first publication, as my network has grown and so have my skills.
I have also self-published a poetry chapbook called “Offerings to Selene” in English and French. My bilingual children’s book will be available in a couple months. I am a member of Spofest prose and poetry open mic, and a new member with the Angora Poets World Café.
For all these publications, getting my work noticed by just the right readers has been an uphill battle. I hate talking about myself, and promoting my works; all the different ways to market are too numerous and I find myself overwhelmed by the possibilities with little ROI. I really would like help and support to get my books to the perfect audience. That’s what counts for me, is that readers connect with my work. Eventually, if I can become a full-time author, that would be my dream, but I recognize it will take time. (Currently a teacher/online tutor for my day-job)
I lived for a long time in the USA, and managed to figure out publishing and networking over there to some degree. But in 2021, I moved to France and feel I have to relearn everything all over again. How to keep in touch with anglophone readers? I am working on translating some of my existing works in French, to start getting a foot in the door here.

# Finding Freedom in Words and Worlds: My Life Beyond Cerebral Palsy
From my home in Stockton-on-Tees, I’ve lived with cerebral palsy since birth—a journey marked by adaptation and an unwavering pursuit of independence. Through countless surgeries, I’ve achieved a level of autonomy I once thought impossible. Yet beyond these physical milestones, I discovered something even more profound: the boundless freedom that comes through the written word.
Writing became my gateway to connection. I began blogging with a simple mission—to demonstrate that disability never defines the limits of a meaningful life. Through sharing my experiences, struggles, and victories, I hoped to inspire others to embrace their own potential, regardless of the challenges they face.
This passion for storytelling naturally evolved into something larger. I authored “The Sky’s the Limit,” a book that stands as testimony to the power of perseverance and unwavering self-belief. But my commitment to helping others extends beyond my own writing. I actively participate in networking communities, offering support and encouragement wherever possible.
My creative journey has also drawn me into the enchanting realm of fantasy fiction. My recent novella, “A Homeless Paradise,” weaves together vivid landscapes with an underlying sense of mystery, inviting readers to discover their own interpretations within its pages. Some readers have drawn comparisons to Terry Brooks’ “Landover” series, while others recognise echoes of “The Prisoner” in its dynamic energy. The story explores profound metaphysical themes through a fast-paced narrative that builds to a deeply reflective conclusion.
In “Jack’s Back!” I explore the concept of second chances through Jack, a man who, after experiencing homelessness, finds himself transported not just to the magical land he once knew, but back to his own childhood. Accompanied by his friend Joe, he navigates an extraordinary world populated by pirate lords, prowling panthers, and terrifying spectres. Their adventure becomes simultaneously a battle for survival, an epic quest, and ultimately a search for the most precious treasure of all—the path home.
Stories like Lara Hargrove’s “Framing Freedom” continue to inspire my work. Lara, a photographer who uses a wheelchair, captures life’s vibrancy through her lens, challenging assumptions about accessibility while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit. Her dedication and relentless pursuit of her artistic vision deeply resonate with my own experience.
Both Lara’s journey and mine centre on the same fundamental truth: we find freedom by transcending the apparent limitations of our circumstances. Through my voice and my stories, I strive to kindle hope and remind others that no matter what obstacles we encounter, the sky truly remains the limit.
I’m committed to continuing this path—writing, connecting, and working to make a meaningful difference, one word, one story, one human connection at a time.

Author Trevor Cowan
Following university and several years travelling, Trevor’s twenty-five-year career in engineering and project management took him across the globe, working for a number of years in Hong Kong, Mexico and Brazil, before returning to the UK. However, like most on a spiritual path, Trevor knew there was something more he needed to be doing, especially as his health began to suffer. Digestive problems, coupled with acute tinnitus, eventually forced Trevor to leave work and seek his own healing path, as the mainstream healthcare offered was ineffective for him. For twenty years Trevor has been working consciously on himself, beginning with yoga and meditation, followed by forays into various other esoteric areas and practices, before coming to shamanism and nature-based spirituality. This, Trevor knew, was his calling, and led to him completing a two-year training course on the medicine wheel and qualifying as a contemporary shamanic practitioner. Throughout this journey, Trevor filled many journals and knew he should share some of the profound insights he was privileged to have been given. From these writings, his book, Change Your Life! was born. Trevor is now based in the lovely town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, in North East England, where he works with individuals and groups offering ceremonies and workshops, alongside private sessions for spiritual connection, personal development, healing and growth.

Author Wayne Kramer
Wayne D. Kramer lives in the southern Indiana countryside with his wife and kids. He loves the open spaces and fresh air. His family keeps a small greenhouse, usually a little garden, and some chickens. He has been married to his wife and best friend, Kaly, since 2004.
Wayne wanted to be a published author for nearly 25 years before finally doing it. Life finally afforded enough flexibility that he is able to focus a lot more time developing the “Heroes of Time” series that he is very passionate about. Another major novel in the series has already been written.
From early on writing was one of Wayne’s favorite pastimes. He wrote short stories throughout middle school and high school for Young Authors contests and group projects. Before “Heroes of Time” dominated his mind, he worked extensively on creating an epic-fantasy novelization of a popular role-playing video game. Over the years Wayne received frequent feedback on many revisions of this novelization, making it one of the primary vessels through which he fine-tuned his writing.
He graduated from the University of Louisville in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Science degree. He worked for his parents’ company in the field of medical imaging equipment and parts for a total of fifteen years. Wayne also pursued business opportunities in licensed products, which included helping to run a traveling retail presence, ecommerce, and product design.
Wayne currently owns and runs his own business, W7 Global, which sells parts for medical imaging equipment all around the world. Throughout his professional and personal endeavors, Wayne has visited nearly 40 countries and about 25 states in the US. He especially loved visiting Hobbiton in New Zealand.
Wayne feels truly blessed by God to pursue his dream of writing and publishing stories. The world of Eliorin was inspired by Wayne’s love of stories of classic fantasy and time travel, and he is incredibly excited to share this rich world with you.

Author Yvonne Marrs
Writing under my family name of Marrs brings a higher possibility of people remembering my name if they are casual browsers. I started out with The Sax Man Plays series and visited many bookshops in London and in the area surrounding my current address, securing book signings and getting physical stock on the shelves. After publishing the first two books with reputable self publishers back in 2007\2010, I still wasn’t happy with the limited creative process afforded by their services. Researching what it would take to become my own publisher, I founded WTSMP Publications to produce future books. Having problems with many eBook producers, I stuck with Amazon KDP, and from the second series – Football Crazy – I concentrated on eBooks only. I’m old fashioned and I love the feel and smell of a paperback, so when I discovered that Amazon had changed from CreateSpace to produce better paperbacks, I dived in. By then, it was 2021, and I had 37 books to turn into paperback format so it took me a while! I suggested that I send the more popular novels to The Book Dragon, in the hope of bringing more readers into The World of Yvonne Marrs. With my experiences, I have coached several other writers to finish writing their books, editing and offering advice, then helping them with the design and formatting process. Once introduced to Draft2Digital, my eBooks are also on Kobo, Apple Books, and other platforms. I have another 10 book ideas in the pipeline, agreeing that in order to live up to the name of a prolific author, 50 books is the target. I have health conditions that limit my activities, meaning that I had to give up my day job in Pharmacy a few years ago. I have limited funds because of this and I’m always looking for ways to promote my work to generate more revenue. I love to have my work educate, entertain and inspire my readers. I’m happy to do any online remote video promotion with my work, and hope to be able to attend public events again in the future.
